“Sit Nomine Digna” in Latin means “May it be worthy of the name.” It was the official motto of Rhodesia, a white ethnostate that existed between 1965 and 1979 in what is today the failed state of Zimbabwe. The motto expressed the idea that the State should live up to its own identity.
Rhodesia, like pre-Mandela South Africa, was a wealthy and modern state governed by whites with a strong Anglo-Saxon and European identity.
In memory of that African dream, Sit Nomine Digna!
